A stunning item.  It  was  also know  as  the Germanic Proficiency rune Germanische Leitungsrune.  It  was  eligible to Germanic peoples  who completed Police  duties  in there native  country. eg  Holland, Denmark  etc.  It was issued in  two  classes,  Silver and Bronze and was awarded   depending on the  results of members tests.  these included  Rope climbing,  running  swimming  etc. This  is  a reproduction of   an extremely  rare   badge  with  fewer  than  200 produced with only  10 know examples  to have survived.

The  Schutzstaffel (SS)

The  Schutzstaffel (SS) were the  elite guard  of  the Third  Reich. Formed in1925 as  a small  bodyguard to protect  Hitler.  It  remained  in this  capacity until Heinrich Himmler  took  charge in 1929.
